Evansville native Stephen Beaven, now a writer for The Oregonian in Portland, Oregon, has written a story on University of Evansville basketball that was published in the November 24 edition of the New York Times.  The story focuses on new men's basketball coach Marty Simmons, and also mentions that this is the 30th anniversary of the plane crash involving the University of Evansville basketball team on December 13, 1977.
