Elenio Makes It Two Years In A Row

University of Evansville senior forward Cory Elenio was chosen today for the second year in a row as a first team selection on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Midwest Region Team.  He is the first Evansville soccer player to earn back-to-back first team all-region honors since goalkeeper Trey Harrington in 1991 and 1992.

Elenio led the Aces in both goals and assists, totaling seven goals and nine assists for 23 points.  He ranked second in the Missouri Valley Conference in assists, third in total points and fifth in goals.  Elenio was a first team all-MVC choice in both 2006 and 2007.

"Cory had a tremendous career here at the University of Evansville, and his All-Midwest Region honors once again are well-deserving," said Aces' head coach Mike Jacobs.  "It has been a while since Evansville has had a player named first team All-Midwest in consecutive seasons, and that speaks volumes about the growth of both Cory and Aces soccer.''
