Meet Results

Christina Schmidgall and James Nash won three events each Tuesday, and all of their teammates added points as the Purple Aces' men's and women's swimmers and divers defeated IUPUI.  The women posted a 196-96 victory and the men won 173-121.

"This was one of our best performances of the season," said UE Coach Rickey Perkins.  "Everyone scored, and that's huge.  Team chemistry is very good, and that's making us a better team."

Schmidgall, a freshman from Golden Valley, Minnesota, posted wins in the 1000-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke and 500-yard freestyle.  Nash ended up first in the men's 100-yard  and 200-yard backstroke events, and the 200-yard individual medley.

Now it's on to California for the Aces.  They take a special trip each year after Christmas and prior to the second semester.  They'll fly from St. Louis to southern California on Dec. 27, and spend nine days training at the University of California-Irvine.  Then it's back to Evansville for the second semester and the start of the 2008 portion of the season with the House of Champions Relays on Jan. 8 at Indianapolis and a January 9 duel meet at Rose-Hulman.
