The University of Evansville men's soccer program had high expectations for Robby Lynch, a 2007 graduate of Carmel High School and the Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year in his senior year with the Greyhounds. Those expectations were met, and Lynch's quick start at the collegiate level this fall is proven through another post-season honor.
Lynch's latest award came this week when he was chosen as a member of the College Soccer News 2007 National All-Freshman Team. Lynch was a second team selection, and the only member of the Missouri Valley Conference to make College Soccer News' elite squad.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound midfielder became a starter early in the season, and tied for second at Evansville in total points with five goals and five assists for 15 points. Lynch was UE's Newcomer of the Year, not a surprise since Lynch was chosen as Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Year and as a member of the Top Drawer Soccer Freshman All-America Team. He was also a second team all-MVC selection in his rookie year. The full College Soccer News All-Freshman Team can be found at
