BOWLING GREEN, Ky.—The University of Evansville swimming and diving team found success in the final day of the Western Kentucky Hilltopper Invitational on Sunday.
“We were amazing this weekend,” said head coach Rickey Perkins. “We had a lot of good times, and I am very happy and proud of these kids.”
Sophomore Christina Schmidgall had a personal best time with her second place finish in the 1650 free with a time of 17:40.09. Alexandra Howard had a good show in with a fourth place finish in the 200 back while Hannah Quast finished fifth in the 100 free. Ady Sekely was the Aces’ top finisher in the 200 fly with a time of 2:14.08 in her 10th place finish.
On the diving board, Ashley Altmeyer took a third place finish in the one-meter dive with a score of 187.75. Jennifer Childers took third place in the three-meter dive with a score of 221.70.
Josh Fletcher was the top finisher for the men with a second place in the one-meter dive and a fourth place finish in the three-meter dive. He recorded scores of 254.85 and 243.25, respectively.
Jacob Harrington finished seventh in the 1650 free while fellow freshman Colin Gray finished eighth in the 200 breast with a time of 2:16.37. Chris Nash placed fourth in the 200 back and Wil Fernandez wrapped things up with a 10th place finish in the 200 fly.
The Aces will return to Wyttenbach Pool to host St. Louis on December 17 in Evansville.
