After posting back-to-back double-double performances to help the University of Evansville women’s basketball team to a pair of victories at this weekend’s Samford/UAB Thanksgiving Classic, UE senior forward Robyn Jennings has been named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

Jennings had a team-high 12 points and 10 rebounds on Friday night in UE’s 62-47 victory over Conference USA member UAB. She then posted a 13-point, 14-rebound double-double performance against previously undefeated Samford to help UE to a 58-54 double-overtime victory over the Bulldogs. Jennings had three key free throws to help UE force overtime with 0.3 seconds left at the end of regulation.

Jennings was joined on the All-Tournament team by fellow UE senior Shannon Novosel, who scored a team-high 15 points in just 23 minutes of action in UE’s victory over Samford. Jennings, Novosel, and the Purple Aces (4-1) will return home to Roberts Stadium on Wednesday night, as UE will host in-state rival Butler at 7:00 p.m. in a game that can be heard live on 91.5 F.M.-WUEV.
