AUBURN, Ala.—All the University of Evansville softball team can do now is wait to see how action at the Tiger Invitational plays out for the rest of the day to determine where the Aces placed. The Aces picked up their fourth win of the weekend over the Marshall Thundering Herd Sunday morning in a close 2-1 game.

 

Senior Jacki Bradley and sophomores Jennifer McKee and Krista Price were named Tiger Invitational All-Tournament selections.

 

Bradley picked up the win against Marshall. She went seven innings, giving up three hits while striking out six.

 

Once again, the Aces were able to take advantage of defensive mistakes to score runs. Kristen Shirk led off the fourth inning with a single to left field. Brittany Herald laid down a sacrifice bunt and was able to reach base on a throwing error by the third basemen, allowing Shirk to make it to third. Krista Price drove in Shirk with a base hit up the middle, and Herald was able to come all the way around and score on a throwing error by the leftfielder.

 

Marshall’s run came off a solo home run off the bat of Melanie Stoehr in the second inning.

 

Shirk, Herald, Price and Jennifer Stahlhut accounted for the Aces’ four hits in the game.
