Aces Wrap Up Day One At SBC Championships

Day One Results

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--After the first day of action at the Sun Belt Conference Championships, the University of Evansville swim and dive team is in eighth place with 46 points. The University of Denver and Missouri State lead the ten men’s teams participating in the event with 205 points each.

The men picked up most of their points in the relays. The highest finish of the day went to the 200 free relay team of James Nash, Phil Lubbehusen, Zach Kanet, and Zach Brown. They finished eighth with a time of 1:25.86. The relay team of Wil Fernandez, Derek Bifulco, Jeff Yoder, and Lubbehusen finished ninth in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:35.83.

Brown finished in the top 25 with a 22nd place finish in the 50 free (21.38). The highest individual finisher of the day was sophomore Josh Fletcher. He picked up an 11th place finish in the one-meter diving event with a score of 223.40.

The Aces will continue action at the SBC Championships Friday beginnings at 9 a.m.
