JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—The University of Evansville women’s golf team is in first place after the first round of the 12-team North/South Collegiate at Jacksonville Beach Golf Course. This marks the first time in UE history that a women’s golf team has led an event.
UE’s top finisher of the day was Crissy Higgins who shot a 77 in her first round. Kim Wong from Bethune-Cookman leads the event with a 73. Vandi Gooch (78), Maggie Wood (79), Katie Shoener (80), and Danielle Wolter (84) combined for a team score of 314 to lead the event. Individually, Helen Cuffe shot an 86 for the Aces.
UE will return to action at 8 a.m. Tuesday for the second round of the North/South Collegiate in Jacksonville, Fla.
