EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Evansville softball team will wrap up non-conference play with a midweek game at Louisville on Tuesday. The Aces will then return home for their final Missouri Valley Conference series with Indiana State before the conference tournament.

The Aces (22-19, 8-12) took two out of three games at Bradley over the weekend to move up to seventh in the conference. One pitch was the difference in Saturday’s pitching duel between Jacki Bradley and Ashley Birdsong. Bradley gave up a solo home run in the fifth inning for the only run she would allow all weekend.

The Aces battled back in the nightcap to outlast the Braves 8-5. Sophomore Jennifer McKee took the win, going six innings and giving up five runs on nine hits. Ashley Hobbs picked up her second save of the season, pitching a scoreless inning of relief. Jacki Bradley had the big hit in the game by just missing a grand slam with a three-run single. Brittany Herald and Krista Price had home runs in the game.

Jacki Bradley shut out the Braves in the series finale and wrapped up the weekend with a .54 ERA. Bradley also picked up two more RBI in the game to lead the team with 29. Sophomore Jamie Lindauer led the Aces with two hits and two RBI while batting .444 over the weekend.

The Cardinals (27-18, 12-6) are coming off a two-game sweep of the Big East-leading South Florida on Saturday. The Cardinals shut out the Bulls 11-0 in the first game and got a play at the plate to end the second game 3-2. Melissa Roth, who is hitting .375 with 19 doubles and 18 RBI, leads the Cardinals.

The Aces and Cardinals will face off at 5 p.m. at Ulmer Stadium. The game can be heard live on 91.5 F.M.-WUEV.
