CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.--Members of the University of Evansville cross country team continued a strong spring season on the track this past Saturday, as the Purple Aces posted seven Top 10 individual finishes at the Austin Peay State Governors Invitational in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Each of the five Purple Aces who competed in Saturday’s track meet finished in the Top 10 of their individual event, led by a third-place showing in the 5,000-meter race by freshman Max Cordier (16:04.20). “I am extremely proud of how these guys ran on?Saturday at Austin Peay,” said UE head coach Don Walters. “These guys have been working extremely hard this spring in training, and I?was glad to see their hard work pay off in some very good showings on the track.
“Hopefully, we can continue to improve each and every time out, because the improvements that we make this spring and this summer in training will only help next fall during the cross country season.”
Members of the UE cross country team will take this week off from competition before returning to the track on Friday, April 18 at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet in Terre Haute, Indiana.
