The third and final exhibition match for the University of Evansville men's soccer team takes place Sunday when the Purple Aces host Bellarmine University at 5:00 at Black Beauty Field. UE is 1-1 so far, with a 2-0 loss at Louisville and a 3-0 win over USI. The Aces open the regular season Friday against the University of Detroit at the UK Invitational in Lexington, Ky.
Evansville was picked earlier this week to finish second in the Missouri Valley Conference, and had four players chosen by league coaches for the MVC Pre-Season Team: senior goalkeeper Alec Dufty, senior defender Kipp Erskine, sophomore midfielder Robby Lynch and sophomore forward Mike Luttrull. Bellarmine, a member of the Division II Great Lakes Valley Conference, has eight starters back from a squad that finished 12-9 overall and 8-5 in the GLVC. The 12 wins were the most by the Knights since 1985.
