The University of Evansville men's soccer team is 4-0 for the first time since 1996 after holding off the University of North Florida 1-0 Friday night in the first round of the ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic at Black Beauty Field.  The final 12 minutes of the first half were played in a downpour, and lightning suspended play for 53 minutes at the start of the second half.

Evansville won the match on a goal at 20:37 by Tyler Crawford, his second of the season, with assists from Robby Lynch and Tom Irvin.  North Florida had a goal by Akil DeFreitas with 19:25 remaining in the second half disallowed by offsides.

Evansville took 13 shots, and put four on goal while the 1-3-0 Ospreys got off 11 shots, also with four on goal.  Freshman goalkeeper Phil Boerger picked up the shutout for UE in his first collegiate start.  He started in place of senior Alec Dufty, who had to sit out Friday's match after receiving a red card last Sunday against Butler.

Valparaiso defeated 25th ranked Bradley in the first match Friday, 1-0, on a goal by Kyle Gentile at 75:51.
The second round of the Classic is Sunday, with Bradley playing North Florida at 11:00 a.m., followed by Evansville against Valparaiso at 1:30.
