University of Evansville Women’s Tennis Team had a strong first day performance at the MVC Individual Tennis Championships. Due to poor weather, action was moved indoors to Tri-State Athletic Club. Carolyn Caire advanced to the main draw semi-finals for flight six singles after beating Lindsey Erickson (Creighton) 6-3,6-3. Kate Chybowski, Aleksandra Dzakula, Pin Sorensen, and Payal Sharma all advanced to the consolation semi-finals in their respective singles flights. Jessica Raatz’s consolation quarter final match will take place Saturday morning.

The doubles teams of Kate Chybowski/Theadora Kotsiou and Pin Sorensen/ Carolyn Caire advanced to the main draw semi-finals in flight one and three doubles.     

Action will resume tomorrow at 10am at Wesselman Park Tennis Complex. If weather forces play indoors, Tri-State Athletic Club will serve as the indoor facility.
