Lissa Fehlman has been named this week's Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week for her efforts in the Aces' four games over the weekend at the Georgia State First Pitch Classic.
Fehlman hit .583 in the Aces' opening weekend of play. The senior put up a 1.167 slugging percentage and was 7-for-12 at the plate with four doubles, a grand slam, seven RBI, and five runs scored in the Aces' four games. Down by four to #17 Missouri, Fehlman started a rally in the top of the sixth inning with a RBI double to score the Aces' first run and then scored the second run to pull the team within two. Despite the loss, the Aces' outhit the Tigers 12-6. In the afternoon game against host Georgia State, Fehlman followed up with a grand slam to give the Aces' a 6-2 lead in the third. In the game, Fehlman was 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, four RBI and three runs scored. On Sunday, Fehlman accounted for three of the Aces' nine runs with a two-run single and then came around to score on a wild pitch as the Aces' shut out the Hokies 9-0.
The Aces (2-2) will return to action on Friday against SIU-Edwardsville at the Mississippi State Bulldog Classic.
