EVANSVILLE, Ind.—With four games under its belt, the University of Evansville softball team will travel to Starkville, Mississippi this weekend for the Mississippi State Bulldog Classic.

The team will face SIU-Edwardsville in the opening game of the tournament on Friday at 1 p.m., followed on Saturday with Rutgers at noon and host Mississippi State at 2 p.m. The tournament will conclude on Sunday with the championship and consolation games at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The Purple Aces are coming off of a 2-2 finish at the Georgia State First Pitch Classic last weekend. After losing two close matches to #17 Missouri and host Georgia State, the Aces shut out Virginia Tech in the final two games.

Lissa Fehlman led the charge, earning both Player of the Week and Scholar-Athlete of the Week honors from the Missouri Valley Conference. The senior was 7-for-12 at the plate with four doubles, a home run, seven runs batted in and five runs scored. Pitchers Jennifer McKee and Kylie Wagner each earned their first wins of the season in over Virginia Tech.
