EVANSVILLE, Ind.—With temperatures predicted to be much warmer than normal, the University of Evansville softball team should have much better playing weather as they will host Tennessee-Martin in a midweek doubleheader on Wednesday. The first game is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The Aces will try to snap a three-game losing streak as they dropped their weekend series to the Missouri Valley Conference pre-season favorite Creighton Bluejays. The Aces managed just three runs in the series. Sophomore Jen Stahlhut was the only Purple Ace with a hit in each game. For the season, she is hitting .318 with four doubles and four RBI while being a perfect 3-for-3 in the stolen base department.
The Skyhawks enter today’s game at 17-8 after taking two of three games from Morehead State over the weekend. The team belted three home runs in the second game to take a 13-0 shutout over the Eagles in five innings. The Skyhawks are led by junior Laura Roberts hitting .414 with three home runs and 24 RBI.
