EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Evansville softball team will welcome Middle Tennessee State to Cooper Stadium on Tuesday afternoon for a 3 p.m. non-conference doubleheader.
The Aces had their weekend games cut short by rain and unplayable field conditions. The Aces were scheduled for a three-game conference series as Missouri State, but the series was cut to one game after rain suspended the second game in the bottom of the fourth inning and weather prevented the rest of the game and Sunday’s game from being played.
The Bears took a 1-0 win in the opening game, as the game was scoreless for the first five innings of the game until they were able to put a couple of hits together in the bottom of the sixth to score the lone run of the game. Lauren Supak took the complete game win giving up just four hits and striking out two. Kylie Wagner pitched the entire game for the Aces and gave up just one run on six hits with three strikeouts.
In the game, Wagner extended her hit streak to seven games. During the streak, she has a .591 batting average with four home runs and nine RBI while posting a slugging percentage of 1.182 and an on-base percentage of .654.
Following Tuesday’s games, the Aces will wrap up their conference schedule on the road as they travel to Southern Illinois on Thursday and Indiana State this weekend. The Aces have only played four of their 16 conference games away from Cooper Stadium this season.
