EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Evansville softball team wrapped up its non-conference schedule by splitting a twin bill with Austin Peay on Tuesday at Cooper Stadium. The Aces cruised to a 5-1 victory in the first came but fell short in the nightcap as the Lady Govs took a 3-2 win.

After a pitching change, Kylie Wagner singled and Amanda Ockomon walked to load the bases. Little hit into another fielder’s choice that allowed all runners to advance safely and gave the Aces a 4-0 lead.

The Lady Govs avoided the shut out by scoring a run with two outs in the fifth. Randal Davenport hit a double with runners on first and second to push across the lone run for the Lady Govs in the game.

Shirk led the team with a 2-for-3 in the performance. She reached on an error and was hit for the 17th time this season to reach base in all four of her plate appearances. Stahlhut had two hits and two RBI while Ockomon and Lindauer each had two walks. Shirk, Ockomon, and Lindauer were credited with stolen bases in the win.
