5/7/2009 8:55:49 AM

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Evansville softball players Jen Stahlhut and Kylie Wagner have named to the first team of the Missouri Valley All-Conference the league office announced today.

Stahlhut, a sophomore from Troy, Ill., led the conference and finished sixth in the country for doubles with 18, which is the third-most at UE for a single season. She finished second on the team with a .333 batting average while leading the team during conference play hitting .375. She was the only Purple Ace to play and start in all 48 games and finished fourth in the league with 55 hits.

Wagner was the only freshman to appear on the first-team this season. The Orange, Cal. native led the Aces hitting .370 and had the best on-base percentage at .463. She had a season-long 11 game hit streak in which she hit all five of her home runs. She was one of two Aces this season to be named the MVC Player of the Week and led the team with 16 multiple hit games, including four three-hit games.

In all, 28 players were honored as part of the first and second all-conference teams. League awards are voted on by the head softball coaches in the conference.
