The University of Evansville sends out its sympathy to the family of former UE football coach Dave Moore, who passed away Monday at Deaconess Gateway Hospital at the age of 62.

Coach Moore served as the Purple Aces' head coach from 1985 through 1990, compiling a record of 20-39-1. He was head football coach at Louisville (Ky.) Trinity High School from 1973 through 1977, and was an assistant coach at the University of Louisville from 1978 through 1984.

Dave is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sherry; daughter Kimberly Ossenberg; son Brandon Moore; three grandchildren, and brothers Douglas and Tom. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Alexander Newburgh Chapel. Graveside services will take place at 2:30 EDT at Paoli Community Cemetery in Paoli, Ind. Friends may visit Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
