Members of the University of Evansville women's basketball team helped local boys and girls get ready for the start of the school year Thursday when they participated in the Green River Kiwanis Back to School Party at Central United Methodist Church.

In conjunction with the T and T Power Group, the party provided each of the 25 boys and girls a backpack complete with school supplies. The annual event is organized by Green River Kiwanis member Sylvia DeVault, who is also the University of Evansville director of alumni and parent relations.
