SPRINGFIELD, Mo.—The University of Evansville swimming and diving team put up a battle, but ended on the wrong end of the fight as the Aces fell to a tough Missouri State team on Friday night.

The women’s team was defeated 61-49 while the men’s team was topped 59-51.

"We had a tough trip, but there were some bright spots," said Evansville head coach Rickey Perkins. "We will get some rest on the bus, and we will try to be better tomorrow."

The team had many highlights throughout the meet, including freshman Michea Reinitz posting two first-place finishes in the 50 free and 100 fly. Fellow freshman Alex Seward was also one of the Aces who earned a top time, as Seward took first in the 100 fly.

Junior Will Spradley finished second in the 100 and 200 free while sophomore Hannah Quast placed second as well in the 100 free. On the diving boards, junior Andy Balczo jumped his way to second place in the one meter while freshman Sadie Wells and senior Josh Fletcher took third in the event.

The Aces will rest up to take on Asbury College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Wyttenbach Pool. UE will honor its seven seniors before the meet for Senior Day.
