INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Once again, the University of Evansville soccer team played a nationally ranked opponent tough on the road, but fell just short.

After losing a 1-0 decision at 24th ranked Indiana on Wednesday, the Aces lost a 2-1 heartbreaker Tuesday afternoon to undefeated and 12th ranked Butler University, thanks to a BU goal in the final two minutes of regulation.  Evansville is now 4-5-1 heading into Saturday's Missouri Valley Conference opener at Drake.  Butler is 9-0-0, and has allowed only four goals this season.

The Bulldogs struck first at 54:44 when Adekunle Oluyedun headed in Ben Sipploa's corner kick at the far post.  The Aces scored the equalizer on a header of their own from senior forward Tom Irvin at 66:36, the result of a corner kick from Gavin Chura.  Less than two minutes later, however, Irvin was sent off with his second yellow card, forcing Evansville to play a man down the rest of the way.  Butler finally took advantage at 88:29 when Kyle Pateros headed in a rebound in front of the goal to  give Butler the 2-1 victory.

Butler finished with a 12-7 advantage in shots.  UE goalkeeper Robert Randant was credited with one save and Butler's Fabian Knopfler made two.
