The University of Evansville and league champion Creighton led the way with three players each on the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete Team, announced today by the MVC. Evansville's trio include senior forward Mike Luttrull (Avon, Ind./Avon), senior midfielder Robby Lynch (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) and junior defender Blake Schneider (Wildwood, Mo./Whitfield).

Luttrull earlier this week was a first team selection on the ESPN Academic All-America Men's Soccer Team.  A three-time all-MVC player, including Honorable Mention All-MVC in 2010, Luttrull is an Accounting major with a 3.78 grade point average.  He led UE with six goals and three assists for 15 points this year, ranking him fourth in the MVC in points and fifth in goals. He finished his career as the 15th leading scorer in Aces' history with 26 goals and 10 assists for 62 points.

Lynch was a finalist for the Academic All-America Team after earning First Team All-MVC and MVC Defensive Player of the Year honors. He is an Exercise Science major with a 3.60 GPA.  Lynch was the Defensive MVP at both tournaments Evansville played in during 2010 -- the Portland Nike Classic and Aces Soccer Classic. He was the second leading scorer for UE in 2010 with five goals and three assists, and ranked sixth in the MVC in goals and seventh in total points.  Lynch was chosen earlier this year as one of 30 national finalists for Lowe's Senior CLASS Award.  He finished his career with 18 goals and 17 assists for 53 career points, ranking him 22nd on Evansville's all-time scoring list.

Schneider was a second team all-Missouri Valley Conference player in 2010. He has a 3.75 grade point average and majors in sport management.  Schneider ranked third in the MVC in assists, with eight. The outside defender finished fourth in scoring for the Aces with 10 points. He has two goals and 17 assists in his three-year career.

The MVC Scholar-Athlete Team is open to players who have been enrolled at their schools for at least one full year, and have a minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
