Head Coach Rickey Perkins and his Aces will travel to Cleveland, Miss., to compete in the Delta State Invitational this weekend.
The University of Evansville men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will travel to Cleveland, Miss., this weekend to compete in the Delta State Invitational. The three-day invitational kicks off on Friday morning. This weekend marks the third and final invitational that the Aces will compete in this season.
The Aces last swam against Mid-Major powerhouse Western Kentucky on Dec. 4. Diver Sadie Wells was named Missouri Valley Conference Diver of the Week after notching first place finishes on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. Michea Reinitz led the women swimmers, turning in two season-best times and taking top-four finishes in all three of her events. Reinitz now holds top-10 times in four MVC events. Colin Gray took the only individual first place finish for the men swimmers, posting a time of 2:16.69 in the 200-breaststroke. Diver Andy Balczo also claimed a first place score of 278.17 on the 3-meter boards.
The women now hold 17 top-three finishes in the MVC while the men are led by Alex Seward, whose 100-butterfly time of 49.96 ranks second in the Mid-American Conference and stands as the men’s only top-three time.
