Day Two Team Standings

Day two at the Delta State Invitational was equally as successful as the first for the University of Evansville men’s and women’s swimming and diving team.

“The quote of the night is definitely ‘one team, one dream’”, said head coach Rickey Perkins. “We had another great night and I am just so proud of how we are coming together as a team. Everybody was very impressive today, both swimming and diving.

Several Aces swam season-best times in today’s meet. Alex Howard set another school record in the 100-backstroke with a time of 57.09, marking the third time this season that she has set a best time in the event. Christina Schmidgall won the 200-freestyle while Jill Enge placed first in the 100-breaststroke. Melissa Thurman took the top time in the 100-backstroke. Jen Childers posted the top score in the 3-meter dive while Sadie Wells finished in second place. The men's relay team of Chris Nash, Colin Gray, Alex Seward and Kyle Tiemann started the day with a first place finish in the 200-medley relay, beating Mid-American Conference rival Missouri State. Seward also claimed a third place finish in the 100-butterfly with a time of 51.54.

The women's team currently stands in first place with a four-point lead over Missouri State. The men sit in third place behind Delta State and Missouri State.
