YPSILANTI, Mich.-- The University of Evansville men’s swimming team headed into the Mid-American Conference Championships Thursday at Eastern Michigan University.

The team competed in the first events of the three-day championships with top finishes from freshman Justin Shotwell, placing 24th in the 200 yard Individual Medley, and freshman Kyle Tiemann, placing 25th in the 500 yard freestyle. Senior Josh Fletcher also placed 15th in the one-meter boards with a score of 237.40.

The Aces contributed nine season-best times in the first day’s events, including Bryan Hamann in the 500 freestyle, Derek Bifulco in the 200 individual medley and Will Spradley in the 50 freestyle.

Friday’s prelims session begins at 11:00 a.m. and include the 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, and three-meter diving. Finals will start at 7:00 p.m. and will include the top 16 finishers from each race and the 200 medley and 800 freestyle relays.
