YPSILANTI, Mich.—The University of Evansville men’s swimming and diving team put together multiple strong performances to highlight day two of the Mid-American Conference Championships.
Junior Chris Nash earned the team’s highest finish in the finals of the 100 back as he tied for 12th place. Freshman Alex Seward also qualified for finals in the 100 fly and finished 13th in the event. Nash’s time of 52.56 was his best this season while Seward’s prelim time of 50.20 in the 100 fly also marked a season best.
Junior Will Spradley put up a season-high 1:44.88 in the 200 free while seniors Derek Bifulco and Brad Tipton and sophomore Colin Gray put up season-best marks in the 100 breast. Nine other season-high times were also broken for the Purple Aces.
UE will wrap up the MAC Championships with day three prelims beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday with 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast and 200 fly while the first heat of the 1650 free begins at 4 p.m. Finals for the remaining events start at 6 p.m.
