The University of Evansville softball team is slated to host a doubleheader with the University of Southern Indiana Saturday starting at noon at Cooper Stadium.
“We’re looking forward to playing against somebody other than ourselves,” said head coach Mark Redburn. “We’ve been working hard in practice to grow and develop, so it’s nice to have an opportunity to put our skills to test against another team.”
Saturday will mark the second weekend of Aces fall ball action. Last weekend, the Aces walked away with a perfect 2-0 start, taking a 5-1 victory over Three Rivers Community College in the first game before beating Southeastern Illinois College 9-1.
“I think we had a good start last weekend, but we definitely have things that we need to continue to improve upon,” said Redburn. “Right now we’re still moving a lot of people around to get a good grasp of where each player stands.”
Admission to Saturday’s games will be $5. A concession stand will also available, all proceeds going directly to the UE softball program.
