MLS PORTLAND TIMBERS PICK UE'S LYNCH

The MLS expansion team Portland Timbers chose University of Evansville midfielder Robby Lynch (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) in today's supplemental draft.

Lynch is one of the most decorated players in UE history.  An NSCAA Scholar All-American, Lynch recently earned first team all-Midwest Region honors from the NSCAA.  In so doing, he became the first Evansville player since Jose Londono in 1996 to earn all-region recognition three years in a row.  Lynch was the 2010 Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year, UE's only first team all-MVC selection, and the Aces' second leading scorer from his midfield position with five goals and three assists for 13 points.

Lynch was also chosen as one of the nation's top 50 players by Top Drawer Soccer.  He finished his career tied for 22nd in career scoring at UE with 18 goals and 17 assists for 53 points.
