Skiles Leads UE Women’s Golf In Final Fall Tournament

FINAL RESULTS

KETTERING, Ohio –
Sophomore Sydney Skiles tied for 14th place as the Purple Aces women’s golf team wrapped up its fall season at the UD Invitational.
 
Skiles wrapped up play on Tuesday with an 80 to finish the tournament with a 157.  Her round on Tuesday was the top of the day for Evansville.  Finishing eight strokes behind Skiles was senior Alyssa Key.  Key recorded rounds of 81 and 84 to finish in a tie for 42nd with a 165.
 
Lauren Ellerman carded identical scores of 84 in the two rounds of the invitational to finish in a tie for 51st while Cathy Doyle and Dana Hayden finished with scores of 174 and 178, respectively.  Competing as a single, freshman Kelly Lamarche tallied a 178.
 
Cincinnati extended its lead in winning the team championship.  The Bearcats improved on their opening round score by a stroke, wrapping up Tuesday’s final round with a 302.  They notched a 605 over the two rounds, 15 strokes ahead of IUPUI’s 620.  Oakland finished in third place with a 624 while Detroit followed in fourth with a 629.  The Aces finished in 11th place, just a shot behind Robert Morris.
 
Lindsey Lammers of Detroit was the individual winner, defeating Olivia Rose of Cincinnati in a playoff.  Each finished with a 147 as Dose overcame a two-stroke deficit on the final day.  Finishing third was Jordan Woods from IUPUI, who notched a 149.
