EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- University of Evansville junior Alex Seward  has been named the Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week, as announced by the league office today.

The San Antonio native went 4-for-4 in individual events last weekend, notching four first place finishes and a total of six Top-3 finishes to help UE post wins over both Ball State and Eastern Illinois.

On Saturday against Ball State, Seward swept the butterfly events, taking first in both the 100- and the 200-fly. He picked up his third  individual win of the meet in the 200-IM, placing first of 10 with a time of 1:58.26 before closing out the day by helping the Aces to a second place finish in the 200-yard medley relay.

Seward stayed hot on Sunday in a dual meet at Eastern Illinois, posting a time of 50.79 to win the 100-yard butterfly. He also claimed another second place relay time as a part of UE's 400-yard medley relay team.

The award marks the second time in Seward’s career that he has won the title of Swimmer of the Week, the first coming on November 3, 2010.
