EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Aces junior
Colt Ryan has been named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday evening.
Ryan recorded a game-high 23 points in the Aces’ season-opening victory over Butler. He hit 14-of-18 free throws while knocking down four field goals. He picked his game up even more in the overtime period, scoring six of UE’s 11 points in the extra period while picked up a pivotal steal.
The Batesville, Ind. native was not just an offensive force as he contributed in every way. Ryan finished with a team-high seven rebounds, five steals and three assists in 42 minutes of action.
The honor was the second of Ryan’s career, also winning it last December of 2010. That week also included an overtime win against Butler.
Ryan and the Aces are preparing to face Indiana on Wednesday. Tip is set for 7 p.m. at the Ford Center. ESPN3.com will carry a live stream of the contest.
