EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Briyana Blair of the University of Evansville women’s basketball team has been selected as the Prairie Farms/Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced by Commissioner Doug Elgin today, as well as the Vectren Student-Athlete of the Week at the University of Evansville. Blair was honored for her performance during the period of December 5-11.
The senior nearly recorded a triple-double in Evansville’s 78-48 win over Murray State, leading all scorers with a season-high 20 points, and a game-high nine rebounds, eight steals, and six assists. On the season, the Orlando, Fla. native averages 10.4 points and a team-best 8.4 rebounds per game.
For Blair, this is both her second Vectren Student-Athlete of the Week honor and Prairie Farms/Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week accolade already this year.
