Aces Step Up In 6-1 Victory

The University of Evansville tennis team improved its spring record to 2-0 Friday night with a 6-1 victory over Murray State University at Tri-State Athletic Club.

The Aces pulled out two close victories in doubles to win the point there, and went on to win five singles matches in straight sets. They play again tonight at 6:00 at Tri-State against UT-Martin.

"Jess Raatz gave a tremendous effort in both singles and doubles," said coach Nick Mueller. "Despite losing at number three doubles, she bounced back in singles to help clinch the win for us. Ashton Schwerin gave a strong performance at number three singles against Cassidy Cunitz. And Aleks Dzakula, stepping in and playing number two singles, gave a great effort against Alexis Webb."
