COLUMBUS, Ohio – Three University of Evansville divers completed day one of the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships at Ohio State today.
“I think today went really well,” said head diving coach Eric Blevins. “It’s good getting the first competition out of the way.”
Sophomore Sadie Wells posted a score of 183.45 on the 3-meter to take 48th place. Senior Jenn Childers was right behind Wells, placing 49th with a score of 181.90. Senior Andy Balczo ended the day in 35th place, posting a score of 195.75 on the 1-meter boards.
The divers will resume competition tomorrow at 1:00 CST. The women will compete on the 1-meter board while the men will dive from the 3-meter board.
“Tomorrow should be better because those are our strongest events,” added Blevins. “They’ve been looking really good in practice for tomorrow’s dives, so I’m excited to see how they will shape up
