ONEONTA, Ala. -- University of Evansville senior Maggie Wood shot 4-over-par 76 Monday, good for ninth place in a field of 46 golfers in the first round of the Samford University Women's Intercollegiate at Limestone Springs Golf Club. Monday's second round was suspended late in the day due to lightning and heavy rain. The second round will be completed early Tuesday, followed by the final round.
Lauren Ellerman also broke 80 for the Aces, shooting 79 for 21st place. Evansville is sixth in the field of eight teams with a score of 326. Troy University shot 300 to take the first round lead, and Nina Offenberg of South Alabama is the leader in the clubhouse after shooting 4-under-par 68.
