TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Coach Don Walters' University of Evansville runners started off the spring season on a good note Saturday at the Rose-Hulman Early Bird Track & Field Meet. Leading the way for the Purple Aces was Lauren Zeabart, who won the 5,000-meter run in the women's division, and Brian Denny, who was third in the 5,000 for the men.
"We had a lot of strong performances," said Walters. "It was good to be back in competition, and beginning with this meet we have a busy month ahead of us."
The Aces have five more meets through April, beginning with the Bill Smith Invitational next Saturday.
