University of Evansville sophomore
Colt Ryan has been chosen for the National Association of Basketball Coaches all-District 16 Team, which has a similar look to the all-Missouri Valley Conference teams announced last week.
Ryan was a second team selection along with Doug McDermott of Creighton, Toure' Murry of Wichita State, Carlton Fay of Southern Illinois and Antoine Young of Creighton. Making the first team were Kyle Weems and Jermaine Mallett of Missouri State, Andrew Warren of Bradley, J.T. Durley of Wichita State and Kwadzo Ahelegbe of Northern Iowa.
Ryan earned second team all-MVC honors last week. The MVC's third leading scorer at 15.7 points per game, Ryan has 907 career points, putting him on target to finish among the top five scorers in Evansville history. Ryan has been the Purple Aces' scoring leader in each of the last six games, including a career-high 32 points on Feb. 26 against Illinois State.
