EVANSVILLE, Ind--Two-time defending Missouri Valley Conference women's tennis champion Wichita State is still the team to beat in the MVC. The Shockers remained undefeated in league play Sunday by defeating the University of Evansville 6-1 at the Carson Center courts. The loss is the first for the Aces in Missouri Valley Conference competition (9-5, 2-1). Junior
Aleksandra Dzakula was the lone winner for the Aces on Sunday, taking her match at number three singles 6-4, 6-1.
"We played a tough team today that exposed our weaknesses," said UE coach
Nick Mueller. "We showed improvement throughout the day and we know what we need to work on moving forward."
After playing their first three MVC matches at home, the Aces hit the road next week, beginning with a match Saturday at Drake.
