Ryan Stallings of Coxs Creek, Ky., who set the Nelson County High School scoring record last fall with 106 goals, has announced that he will attend the University of Evansville and play soccer for coach Mike Jacobs' Purple Aces. He becomes the 13th newcomer on the 2011 team.
The 5-10, 155-pound Stallings was a three-time all-state selection in high school. He also led his JYSA Storm club team to the Kentucky Youth Soccer Association State Cup semifinals, and was an Aces Soccer Camp All-Star in 2010.
"Ryan has the pace to make him an attacking threat," according to Jacobs. "His ability to create and finish scoring chances should make him someone who will fit in well within our system."
Stallings and the other incoming players will join the veterans for the start of pre-season training in early August.
