ST. LOUIS - The University of Evansville women's soccer team has been picked to finish sixth in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll, the league announced Monday. The Aces received 15 points in the poll, voted on by the MVC’s head coaches.

In addition, two Aces earned preseason honors from the conference. Sophomore Breanna Beine, the MVC Freshman of the Year and first team all-conference selection in 2010, was named to the 2011 MVC Preseason Team, while senior Sam Conrad was recognized as honorable mention in the poll.

The defending conference and tournament champions Creighton Bluejays were picked as the preseason favorite with 45 points.

The 2011 Aces return eight starters and 10 letterwinners from last year's squad that compiled a 6-12-1 record. Head coach Krista McKendree is entering her fourth season leading the program.

After going 1-1 in exhibition play last week, UE kicks off the regular season on the road at Indiana University on Fri., Aug. 19, at 6:00 p.m. CT. The Aces also travel to take on Saint Louis University over the weekend with a start time of 1:00 p.m. CT Sunday.
