Evansville, Ind. – The University of Evansville men’s basketball team was named the Gold Winner of the Best Local Sporting Event in a survey of readers of the Evansville Courier & Press.
The newspaper names winners in several categories spread over numerous industries. The newspaper polls its readers and recognizes the winners in each category.
Evansville will host a pair of preseason contests at the newly built Ford Center before playing host to Butler on November 12 in the season opener. Four days later, the Purple Aces will welcome Indiana to the Ford Center.
