EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The University of Evansville men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will host the final home meet of the 2011-12 season this weekend, bringing in Lindsay Wilson’s men’s team and Vanderbilt’s women’s team for a combined dual meet on Saturday. The first event is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
The meet will also serve as Senior Day for ten Purple Aces, as

Colin Gray,
Jake Harrington,
Alex Howard,
Valerie Jones,
Hannah Quast,
Alex Spata and
Will Spradley will swim at Roy and Mary Wyttenbach Pool in the last home meet of their career.
Saturday’s meet will also mark the Aces’ the first competition since traveling to the Christmas Invitational in Cleveland, Miss., on December 16. The women’s squad notched a win at the invitational, placing first out of four teams, while the men took home an impressive second place finish.
Freshman
Michelle Tipton highlighted the meet for the women, as she turned out seven first place finishes on the weekend while breaking UE school records in both the 500 and the 1650-freestyle. Following her performance, the freshman was named the Missouri Valley Conference’s Swimmer of the Week for December 20.
Junior
Sadie Wells earned the title of MVC Diver of the Week on December 20 as well after she sweeping the diving events at the Christmas Invitational. The 2011 Co-Diver of the Year posted a NCAA Zone qualifying score of 296.60 on the 3-meter, just 0.6 points away from her personal best and school record, to secure her third consecutive trip to the Zone C competition.

Samantha Montgomery each earned two first place finishes in their respective individual swim events.
For the men, junior
Alex Seward finished the weekend with three Top-3 finishes, including a first place time in the 200-IM. Sophomore
Ryan Metzger also took home a win, taking the in the 200-backstroke with a time of 1:54.26. Seward, Spradley, junior

Ashton Bishop notched a relay win for the Aces, touching in with a season best 1:24.35 in the 200-freestyle relay.
On the boards, sophomore
Mallet Reid posted wins on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards, earning him Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week for the first time in his career.
