In addition to being named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week this week, junior men’s basketball player Colt Ryan is also UE's Vectren Student-Athlete of the Week.
Ryan averaged 29.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game this past week to help the Purple Aces to a pair of victories over Bradley and Illinois State. Ryan’s week was highlighted by a career-high 39-point, nine-rebound performance in UE’s 90-67 victory over Bradley on Wednesday, in which he hit eight three-pointers. He also pitched in a team-high 20 points in UE’s 79-71 victory over Illinois State on Saturday night.
Ryan enters this week’s action ranked in the nation’s top five in scoring at 21.2 points per game, and he leads the Missouri Valley Conference in scoring in league play with an average of over 23 points per game. The Purple Aces return to action on Wednesday night, as they travel to Wichita, Kansas to take on league-leading Wichita State. Tip-off is set for 7:05 p.m. and Wednesday's game can be heard live on 91.5 F.M.-WUEV, and seen live on Fox Sports Midwest.
