VALLEY RELEASE
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Evansville freshman forward
Faik Hajderovic was named the Missouri Valley Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Evansville’s 4-0 win over Oral Roberts Sunday afternoon at McCutchan Stadium. The honor is the first-career Valley award for Hajderovic and he is the first Purple Aces men’s soccer player to earn a weekly honor this season.
Hajderovic netted a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in Sunday’s victory over the Golden Eagles for his second and third goals of the season. The St. Louis, Mo., native put UE up 1-0 in the 27th minute by finding the back of the net from 25 yards out and later scored a second goal in the 47th minute after collecting a loose ball and finishing from just inside the box.
On the season, Hajderovic leads Evansville with 10 points on three goals and a team-best four assists. Sunday marked the first-career multiple goal game for Hajderovic, who has recorded 10 points in his first eight collegiate matches.
The Aces will return to the pitch tomorrow at 4 p.m., when they travel to Charleston, Ill., for a non-conference match with Eastern Illinois.
