EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Fresh off of a clean sweep at Tennessee Tech, the University of Evansville cross country team will play host to the Evansville Invitational on Saturday at the UE Cross Country Course.
Both the men’s and women’s teams were victorious last week at the Tennessee Tech Invitational while UE also took top individuals honors in each race.
Senior
Cody Stein led the way for the men’s team as they swept the top three positions. Stein led the way with a time of 26:25.56, finishing seconds ahead of
Josh Genet.
Andrew Barrett was the third registered runner to cross the line for UE.
Jon Ashby came in ninth as UE had four of the top nine finishers in the event.
The women were even more dominant in their outing as they took the top six positions in the 5K.
Kelby Jenkins led the way once again as her time of 18:45.94 was nearly 30 seconds ahead of second-place finisher
Lauren Zeabart.
Elizabeth Kingshott came home in third place just ahead of
Nicole Kreuzman.
Jacqueline Carlson wrapped up the top five while
Alyssa Moran made it a clean sweep of the top six positions.
Saturday’s action begins at 11 a.m. with the women’s race, followed by the men at approximately 11:45 a.m. School slated to run include UE, Vanderbilt, Valparaiso, Rend Lake, Vincennes, IUPUI, Marshall and the St. Louis College of Pharmacy.
