EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville men’s soccer team will be hosting a “Kick for the Cure” match when it faces visiting Marshall Saturday night at Arad McCutchan Stadium. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. and free admission will be given to all breast cancer survivors.
The Purple Aces will be sporting pink jerseys for Saturday’s contest in support of breast cancer awareness and all survivors will be recognized at halftime. In addition, UE will be conducting a silent auction and a Chinese auction that feature autographed sports items, soccer memorabilia and game-worn jerseys. Some marquee items included autographed Major League Soccer jerseys and a framed jersey signed by US Women’s National Team legend Brandi Chastain. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game and a prize will be given for the best pink outfit.
All proceeds from both auctions and half of the gate proceeds will be donated to the Greater Evansville Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Fans planning to attend Saturday’s “Kick for the Cure” event should enter through the H-Lot gate located on the north side of Black Beauty Field. Breast cancer survivors will be able to check in at this gate as well to ensure they are recognized at half time.
