EVANSVILLE, Ind. –
Fresh off of its record-setting 15 three-pointers in a win over San Jose State Saturday, the University of Evansville women’s basketball team will be back on the road for a non-conference game at Murray State Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

The Purple Aces (2-1) used a second-half rally and 15 threes to post a 74-65 win over SJSU Saturday at the Ford Center.  Redshirt sophomore Khristian Hart knocked down five treys on her way to 18 points and senior Samantha Heck recorded her seventh career double-double by scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the victory.  Senior Chelsea Falkenstein added eight points and nine rebounds off the bench and sophomore Juliann Miller dished out a career-high six assists in 19 minutes as a sub.

As a team, UE leads the Missouri Valley Conference in three-pointers made with 29 and rank second in three-point percentage, as the Aces are shooting 35.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Individually, Hart is tied for the league lead with 10 three-point field goals and ranks fifth in the conference in scoring with a 16.3 points per game average.  Heck is currently second in the league with 1.7 blocks per contest, ranks fifth in rebounding at 9.3 boards per outing and is averaging 12.0 points per game.  Senior Meagan Collins is also averaging in double figures at 11.7 points per game.

Murray State (1-3) picked up its first win of the season Saturday at Longwood, downing the Lancers, 76-68, in Farmville, Va., after starting the season by dropping contests to Western Kentucky, Indiana and James Madison.  A pair of Racers recorded double-doubles in the win, as Mariah Robinson led all players with 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Jessica Winfrey scored 15 points and pulled down 14 boards in 31 minutes off the bench.

MSU is averaging 64.5 points per game and is shooting 32.0 percent from the field, including a 23.1 percent clip from three-point land.  At the foul line, Murray State is connecting on 69.1 percent of its opportunities and defensively it is averaging 8.0 steals per contest.

Robinson leads MSU in scoring (18.5 ppg) and steals (10) and ranks second on the team in rebounding (7.5 rpg).  Erica Burgess is also averaging in double figures for Murray State, scoring 10.3 points per outing.

The Racers return nine letterwinners, including four starters from last year’s squad that finished 13-18 overall and fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference with an 8-8 mark.  Murray State is under the direction of fifth-year head coach Rob Cross, who owns a 59-78 record.

Tuesday will mark the 30th meeting between the Aces and Racers, as MSU holds a 17-12 advantage in the all-time series.  Last season, the teams split a pair of regular-season meetings, with each team winning a game on its home floor.  Murray State defeated Evansville, 76-61, in the season opener, before the Aces earned a 78-48 victory later in the season at the Ford Center.

Following Tuesday’s game in Murray, Ky., Evansville will head north to Madison, Wis., for a non-conference tilt with Big Ten foe Wisconsin.  The Badgers will welcome the Aces to the Kohl Center Sunday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m.
